The town of Crown Point sits in Northwestern Indiana, just south of the tip of Lake Michigan, only 50 minutes from Chicago. Lucrezia Cafe and Ristorante is an Italian eatery that has three Indiana locations: Chesterton, Culver, and Crown Point. In Crown Point, you’ll find it at 302 S. Main St. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. during the winter and stays open an hour later each day during the rest of the year. Bringing you the specialty food of Northern Italy in a relaxed, casual environment, Lucrezia serves pasta dishes like rigatoni with braised Italian sausage and entrees like baked Parmesan herb crusted Icelandic cod and stuffed eggplant with prosciutto and mozzarella.

Fahrenheit Two Twelve

Fahrenheit Two Twelve is an upscale steak and seafood house with a bar. Located in a red brick building at 10805 Broadway, it’s open every day from 11 a.m. until 8, 9, or 9:30 p.m., depending on the day of the week. It has large lunch and dinner menus that include appetizers like goat cheese bruschetta, and it offers both hearty meat and veggie sandwiches, beef burgers, wraps, tacos, and flatbread. Enjoy a selection of gourmet salads, certified Angus steaks and chops, fresh seafood, creamy chicken and pasta dishes, and desserts like bread pudding and cheesecake.

Eli’s Golden Apple Restaurant and Pancake House

Eli’s Golden Apple Restaurant and Pancake House serves up hot breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, as well as offering catering for your next event. It’s a welcoming family-style restaurant that serves up a large menu created by owner and executive chef Eli. Found at 101 E. 107th Ave., it’s open daily from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., except for Sunday when it closes at 8 p.m. Menu items use seasonal fruits and vegetables and fresh meats and fish, and they include new and limited items throughout the year. Enjoy freshly made crepes, waffles, pancakes, burgers, salads, and more.

5 Star Thai Restaurant

If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, you should definitely check out the 5 Star Thai Restaurant. It has been serving up fantastic, made-from-scratch Thai cuisine since 1996. It’s at 5124 Pine Island Court in North Crown Point, west of Merrillville, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The authentic menu offers popular Thai foods like Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups, Som Tum salad with shredded green papaya, and vegetables in a spicy lime dressing. Appetizers include pot stickers and other dumplings, while entrees include stir-fried dishes, seafood, and house specials.

Provencho Latin Provisions

For some Latin American and Spanish-inspired cuisine, head to Provencho Latin Provisions at 110 S. Main St. This restaurant opens at 4 p.m. during the week and at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday for your weekend brunch. The brunch menu includes stuffed French toast with sweet plantain, honey whipped cream, and piloncillo mezcal syrup. You can also choose from a variety of empanadas and tacos for both brunch and dinner. Other options include the fire-roasted beet salad, roasted butternut soup, queso fundido, and coal-roasted poblanos stuffed with butternut squash, Oaxaca, salsa kolito, and epazote.

Station 21 American Grill

Station 21 American Grill is a family-friendly sports bar located in a red brick building at 201 N. Main St. just north of the Crown Point town square. It opens every day at 11 a.m. for lunch and dinner and stays open until around midnight, with a late-night menu starting after 9 p.m. Try the crispy Brussels sprouts sprinkled with Parmesan cheese for your appetizer, and follow it with ahi tuna tacos or Florentine Alfredo with penne pasta, grilled chicken, tomatoes, and spinach. Other options are burgers and sandwiches, salads and soups, wraps, and entrees like the bourbon-glazed salmon.

Court St. Burritos

Every town needs a good Mexican restaurant. If you’re in Crown Point, stop by Court St. Burritos at 930 S. Court St. It’s open every day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and offers more than just burritos at affordable prices. Their tasty breakfast items include a breakfast burrito, chorizo and egg tacos, huevos rancheros, and a Mexican omelet. Start your lunch or dinner with an appetizer such as choriqueso and chips, then choose from either entrees like the tostado dinner or a la carte options like a steak or barbacoa torta, tacos, or burritos.

Off Square Brewing

Off Square Brewing is Crown Point’s local brewpub restaurant and is located at 11000 Delaware Parkway. It opens every day at noon and closes at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 10 p.m. the rest of the week. Several of its eclectic selection of brews have won local awards, and they’re delicious when paired with pizza made from scratch in a wood-fired oven. Options include a mushroom pie with Alfredo sauce, oyster mushrooms, and creamed fennel. Or you can build your own from the list of toppings. You’ll also find burgers, ramen, pan-seared salmon, sandwiches, soups, and more.
